Access high-speed internet in your area with Liberty Plans. Liberty plans are a flexible and fast way to get high-speed internet, starting with a set amount of Priority Data with download speeds of up to 12 Mbps. (You can also get 25 Mbps in some areas.) What’s great about Liberty is that even if you go over your monthly data allowance, you can continue to use more data, typically at download speeds of up to 1 to 5 Mbps during the daytime.
Even better, you can help minimize your data usage by downloading and using the Viasat Browser with an optional ad-blocking feature that reduces the amount of data you consume while browsing the web. Download it now.
Pick your data package based on your anticipated monthly usage. When you’re using your Priority Data, you’ll get download speeds of up to 12 or 25 Mbps. If you use up all of your Priority Data, you can keep using the internet, but your speeds will be slower.
Every Viasat plan (formerly Exede) comes with a set amount of fast Priority Data at speeds up to 12 or 25 Mbps. This Priority Data is always used first, and resets every month on your billing date.
If you use up your Priority Data, you can continue using the internet at slower speeds. During the day, these reduced speeds will be pretty good – up to 1 to 5 Mbps. During evening hours – after 5 p.m. — your speeds will be slower than the daytime Liberty Pass speeds, possibly below 1 Mbps at times.
If you mostly use the internet during the daytime, Liberty may be a good fit for you. But if you plan to use a lot of data in the evenings, Liberty may not give you the best experience.
During evening hours when the Viasat network is busiest – roughly 5 p.m. until 2 a.m. – service will be a good deal slower. Think of it as more cars on the highway, causing slower traffic. It may not be possible to stream video with the Liberty Pass during these hours.
However, for about 15 hours a day – roughly from 2 a.m. until 5 p.m. – your speeds should be pretty good, even if you’ve used up your Priority Data.
You always have the option to buy more Priority Data for faster speeds. You can also upgrade to a plan that includes more Priority Data. You will not incur any change fees for upgrading your plan.
If your Liberty plan includes a Free Zone in its name, your data usage is not metered or counted toward your monthly data allowance period from 3 to 6 a.m. The Free Zone is not available with the Liberty 10, 18 or 30 plans. Instead, many Liberty 10 customers find that the high speeds available during the daytime with Liberty offer an even better experience. By providing a range of data options, Viasat allows you to find high speed internet plan that work for you.
