Every day during the wee hours, we’re giving Exede customers a hall pass to enjoy their superfast Internet service just a little bit more. Or a whole lot more — it’s up to you. For 5 hours daily in your local time zone, you can take advantage of unlimited Internet usage to download movies, games, music, and software updates. In addition, you can upload photo galleries, blog postings and videos, and perform online backups, and a whole lot more.
As an Exede customer, you already have it! If you’re on an Exede Classic plan, the Late Night Free Zone is from midnight to 5 a.m. If you’re on Exede Evolution (not available in all areas), the Early Bird Free Zone is from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. During these time periods, the meter isn’t running, so your Free Zone usage doesn’t count towards your monthly data allowance.
When it’s past bedtime or early in the morning, people use less interwebs. With all that free bandwidth, we thought it was silly to not pass it on to you.
Q: What’s the difference between the Late Night Free Zone and the Early Bird Free Zone?
A: The Late Night Free Zone is our original unmetered data period offered on our Exede Classic plans (midnight to 5 a.m. daily in your local time zone). Early Bird Free Zone is offered on our Exede Evolution plan (not available in all areas) between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. If you’re interested in Evolution, click on our Zip code tool to see if it’s available in your area.
Q: Will I see my Free Zone usage in the Exede Usage Meter?
A: No. During the Free Zone, your usage will not be counted. Therefore, you shouldn’t see the Usage Meter changing between 12 midnight – 5 a.m local time.
Q: What if I need my speeds restored or restrictions lifted now? I can’t wait for the Free Zone!
A: You always have the option to Buy More. For $9.99 per GB, you can get additional data allowance for use outside of the Free Zone.
Q: I purchased Exede through DISH or my local telephone company (NRTC). Do I get the Free Zone?
A: If you receive your monthly bill from ViaSat (provider of Exede), you get this feature. If you receive your monthly invoice from another provider, please contact them directly to determine if this feature is currently available.
