All our Exede Internet plans come with our fastest speeds (either 12 Mbps or 5 Mbps depending on your area). The only difference between the plans is the amount of data you can use every month, which is your data allowance. The Data Allowance Policy is the official document that explains how the whole thing works.
We measure your data usage on a monthly basis and reset it to zero on your monthly billing date, when a new measurement period begins. Starting on the first day of your monthly measurement period, all uploaded and downloaded data transmitted using your Exede service counts toward your data allowance.
If at any time your total data usage exceeds the data allowance, we may severely slow, restrict, and/or suspend your service, or certain uses of your service, until the end of your monthly measurement period. At the end of each monthly measurement period, your data usage resets to zero. If your service has been restricted due to excessive use, it will be restored.
We encourage you to monitor your usage. Customers who receive their Exede bill directly from us may review their current data usage online by doing the following:
Note: If you receive your monthly bill from a service provider other than ViaSat, please check with your service provider for instructions on how to check your usage totals.
| If your monthly bill is… | $49.99/mo. | $79.99/mo. | $129.99/mo. |
| Then your monthly Data Allowance is… | 10 GB | 15 GB | 25 GB |
Please note:
The Late Night Free Zone allows you to download and upload between 12 midnight – 5 a.m., local time, every night without usage counting against your data allowance. Learn more here.
No, your speeds will return to normal during the Late Night Free Zone, even if you have no data allowance remaining during your billing cycle. Get the full story on Late Night Free Zone.
Some activities use more data than others. Here are some examples:
If you use your Exede service for these activites, you should monitor your usage to make sure you don’t exceed your data allowance.
For discussion about these situations, please visit our online forum at WildBlue World.
See the chart below to review the policy directly from your Exede Service Provider (the company from which you receive your monthly service bill). Please note that these policies may be called the “Fair Access Policy” rather than the “Data Allowance Policy.” Regardless of the name of the policy or service provider, the way we measure data usage and the restrictions imposed for exceeding your monthly data allowance are all the same.
